Identity and collateral for two small independent bookstores (actually they are neighbors!) in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard. Anderson's Books wanted to reflect the nautical history of Ballard and their old-school way of doing business as a bookstore.

Art Books & Press wanted a much more contemporary look. They specialized in books on art, mainly Modern Art, and the sans serif reflect the clean look of Art Moderne. To show their roots to the Northwest, what is more appropriate than a crow?
